 Sales and Services Update

Your Convention Bureau recently had the pleasure of hosting 11 travel agent visitors from Israel. Heather and Todd hosted the group over two days as part of their greater NY tour. While our portion of the overall tour was quick, we were able to bring them through our major attractions, take them on a city tour, highlight our lodging properties, restaurants and shops. The group loved the food, the hospitality and the wealth of history and entertainment. We have had wonderful and positive feedback from all involved and we are looking forward to hosting their international group tour travel customers in the coming months and years!

In addition to working with the sports and association markets, Heather has been traveling the state to attend group tour trade shows. Heather and a partner hotel attended the ABA/OMCA Group Tour Summit in Verona, NY, where we met with many operators from US and the Ontario, Canada area. Several connections were made and existing connections were strengthened. Heather and several hoteliers also attended the Destinations Group Travel Show in Poughkeepsie, NY to again connect with the group tour industry professionals as well as participate in educational seminars and networking events. Next week will find Heather in Greensboro, NC for the National Association of Sports Commisions Annual Symposium. She and a hotelier will have targeted appointments, attend educational sessions and have time for peer to peer interaction and sharing, and networking with event rights holders from around the country.

Marie Moynihan, Senior Sales Manager hosted business council staff for site visit in March. She attended Conference Direct Associate and Partners Meeting in DC – made new contacts with CD associates in an effort to attract new bookings to Saratoga.  The mission in place is to follow up and invite associates to Saratoga for FAM. Continued sales efforts in capital region and planning for greater NY, NJ and New England area calls and conferences in upcoming months

Convention Services

March brought Spring and a slew of convention services requests!  Yippee – that is exactly what we want to happen.  Our Conference Landing Pages are flying out the door like crazy – this is so awesome – groups are so pleased with this new service.  We are hoping it will assist groups with building attendance for their upcoming conferences.

Heather McElhiney and Kathy Denkenberger attended the Westfield Chapter MPI meeting in Rye, NY.  The SCTB was the sponsor of the Disney Institute Program.    (photo below)

We assisted NYSERDA at their Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) conference held in March at the Saratoga Hilton and the Saratoga Springs City Center.  This group met for the first time in Saratoga and just loved it.  We are hoping they choose to return in the near future. (photo below)

We continue to meet with clients informing them of all our new services.  If you have an upcoming meeting planned for Saratoga  - please reach out to Kathy Denkenberger and set up a meeting.   We want your group to experience all that Saratoga has to offer!
