July Means Saratoga Racetrack & Saratoga Events!

Racing

Of course, many of the Saratoga events in July are all about thoroughbred horse racing at Saratoga! From the end of July through the first weekend of September each year, some of the finest thoroughbreds in the world compete here!  Typically there is an annual Open House where you can preview the track, enjoy some great food, entertainment, exhibits and backstretch tours. While in Saratoga, breakfast at the track is a tradition…a leisurely buffet on the Clubhouse Porch while the horses get ready to run. (You can even take a free walking tour of the stable area, weather permitting!) The track is closed on Tuesdays.

Ballet

Sit back and enjoy one of the best performances on earth! Another wonderful Saratoga tradition, the renowned New York City Ballet makes its home here for three weeks in July, offering unforgettable performances daily at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. These are unique Saratoga events the whole family can enjoy!

Polo

For the last 100 years, Saratoga Polo Association has been delighting visitors with this unique and beloved ‘sport of kings’. If you’ve never had the opportunity to be a spectator, you’re in for a treat! The speed and skill of this sport is surprising, as is the elegant setting of the Saratoga Polo Club. Continues from mid-June through the part of September with matches every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday Evening at 5:30 p.m.

All About the Kids

The Saratoga Children’s Museum offers programs throughout the summer…treat them to a ride on a real antique carousel in Congress Park…one of the oldest in the country!

Watch out for

There are events taking place everywhere during July in Saratoga! The Writer’s Institute sponsors public reading almost nightly, a concert series at Saratoga National Historic Park, guided tour of Yaddo. Don’t forget to take a tour of the renowned Saratoga Mineral Springs…
